Hot Shot Transportation

Pickup and flatbed or gooseneck trailer capacity for equipment, machinery and open-deck freight.

Hot shot transportation uses a heavy-duty pickup towing a flatbed or gooseneck trailer. It’s well suited to equipment, machinery, building materials and other freight that loads from the side or top rather than through a door.

When hot shot makes sense

  • Open-deck freight that doesn’t need a full-size flatbed
  • Equipment or machinery that must be loaded by forklift or crane
  • Partial loads that need dedicated, direct transportation

What to include in your request

Dimensions and weight of each piece, how it will be loaded and unloaded, and any tarping, chains or straps the freight requires.

Frequently asked questions

What’s the difference between hot shot and expedited freight?

Hot shot describes the equipment (pickup and trailer). Expedited describes the service level — time-sensitive transport, which can use vans, box trucks or hot shot setups.

Can hot shot carry heavy machinery?

It depends on the weight and dimensions and on the specific truck and trailer. Send the specs and we’ll confirm.
